Sd card only working on laptop nothing else

Hello,
i brought a standard 4gig sd card, works fine on my computers, but when i plug it into my plasma tvs sd slot, it doesnt read, also on my dvd player in my car, or anything else, only works on pc, i formatted it, tried again, same problem, anyone who can help me?
