Hello,
I bought a Western Digital Mybook Essential 1.5 TB external hard drive a few months ago and it was working perfectly until the other day. It fell from my nightstand onto the floor but it's carpeted and is only about 2 feet high so I feel that it couldn't have messed anything up. But I've been trying to work with it but my laptop does not recognize it when it's plugged in. I tried downloading a new driver but in order to do that the mybook has to be recognized so I got nothing for that. I was thinking that it could possibly be the power cord. Please can somebody help me!!

Hi there,

Well test the power cord with a multimeter and also open the enclosure and checked if all are in respective place and not detached ,if so then use a screw driver and fix then and connect back to system, feel free to send me a private mail for more help on this issue.

Thanks
