Dvd cd rom driver

Hello,
When I load a dcd disk with a file, it is not opened nor does it display any files - as if it is a blank file. How can I fix this problem. I as using Window XP . It works all right with cd .

Hi suffer954,
Thanks for wanting to help. I will try to state my problem as much as I am able to. I want to access a file of a talk copied on dvd. Take the following steps: 1. Click on my computer icon, 2. Click on Dvd-rw drive - take a long time to activate. In clicking the right buttion and then click open, no file names appear i.e. blank and 0 object . But when I insert a recorded cd, the icon CD rom appears with the title of the topic recorded. By clicking on this , the whole set of files are displayed.
I am able to make copy using the Nero software on dcd.
