Help My computer is broken

Hello, I have a vista and recently it's started freaking out. I'll be online and it just truns to black, it's still on but no ones home. You have to reboot in order to use. It is happening more and more now it's pretty much everytime I turn it on. Can somebody help me.
ps I'm not computer literate, so simple explanations geared to the simple minded please :)

Hi there,

Please give more information,what was the last actions done before this issue occurs?Was a software update or installation recently done?

No, it's happens when I'm online but sometimes I can be on for awhile sometimes after a minute or two. i have done no updates, however windows messenger has started poping up when I turn my computer on, but m "blackout" have been happening before that.
