My lovely pendrive is not detected

dear/respected frnds.
i hv a LG pendrive n it is not getting detected in my lappie?
when i insert it the red light in it blinks but der is no message in my lappie dat A NEW HARDWARE IS FOUND?
and when i click MYCOMPUTER or any other icon my lappie will get strucked!
and again i hv to turn off my lappie and start it again pls
FRNDS HELP ME BY GIVING SOME SUGGETIONS:

Please get to the device manager and get its driver updated in order to get the problem solved.
