I just bought a new lap top "Toshiba" and I can't not watch any videos from youtube or any other website. When I push play it only plays for like a min or less and stops. It's not because it's still loading or anything. My mom just bought a new lap top too"Gateway" and she has the same problem! Makes me really mad knowing I just bought a new expense lap top and it doesn't even work for videos!?!?...but my old computer did....doesn't make any scene. Does anyone else have this problem and know how to fix it!?!?????

Hi there,

You need codecs for playing different media types and flash player for playing videos online, download them on links below from kioskea Download section:

https://ccm.net/downloads/internet/4613-adobe-flash-player/

Thanks

Youtube uses a flash based player:

Check here to make sure you have the latest version:

https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/about/

I know for sometime Youtube users were having a lot of issues at Youtube.com was updating its servers, have not see that problem in a few weeks though.

I see you are running Firefox once you download the new version of the flash player make sure you exit and restart Firefox, what other sites have you tried to play videos off of? I'm assuming your flash player is fine as the video does load but freezes.

Also with it being a new computer make sure you have all the new updates for windows 7 as they are releasing them all the time and forgive my asking but is your ISP in Canada?? I ask because there was a big problem there with one of their ISP providers and loading internet video.

With Youtube videos you can also right click on the video screen and choose "Take speed test" this will show you information about your speed and others in your area, country, ets. If you move down the page you should see a "show test video" link click on that and post what information you get in the display box.

Ill get back to you if I find out more.

Did you use a link from this answer forum for the download? Would be nice if you remembered exactly what you did but no worries, can you mark this as solved please?
