Sims 2 cannot be installed

My sims get installed till 98%. I have sims 2's CD to play on computer but it says " a problem occoured while trasenfering thumnails package. It cannot copy MS.DOS Function. So what should i do and if there is no way then from which site of your can i download Sims 2 game For free it okay if it trial version.Please reply.
