took laptop apart to replace fan Closed

Question

I took apart a dell 1525 laptop today to replace a loud fan and when i put it back together, i get not boot, no screen and all i get is a blue power light. i took out the processor cooling unit, will that cause the computer from booting up?

Configuration: Windows Vista / Firefox 3.5.7

let me add i put the processor cooling unit back in with the old paste... just need some advice on what i maybe did wrong.
