Help!

I use my Dell laptop (Inspriron 1525) specifically for my photo editing that I do. ALL pictures are stored on an external 400Gig hard drive and I only bring over what I'm working on. The software is indeed on the laptop.

It has become very very slow and I don't know how to fix it! Any advice?

Which software you mean is needed on laptop?Make use of ccleaner and revert back with more information,download it here:
