Transfer files from dead laptop to computer

i need to get all my picture/music/files off my laptop (that wont turn on) and transfer them onto my computer.
im fairly good at these things but need to be told in SIMPLE COMPUTER LAUNGUAGE.

Hi there,

Remove the hard drive from laptop,take it to a computer shop and show them the hard disk and purchase a 2.5'' enclosure to fix it either sata/ide type.Then connect to your pc via usb ,all will be provided with enclosure.Now use as external hard drive and access it to extract data.
