hello - using windows xp home edition, IE 8.
there is no particular amount of time the computer has been on and in use when this problem occurs. it can happen after an hour or after using it all day and anywhere in-between. we have sound while watching videos, playing games, or listening to music, anything that uses sound. the sound never stops working when it's in use- only after we stop using it for a while. when we go back to use something with sound, for whatever reason, the sound stopped working. the only way to get it to come back on is to restart the computer.
can anyone tell me why this is happening. of course i check to make sure the sound is still turned on and the volume is high enough to be heard. any ideas or help on why this is happening will be appreciated. thanks. - lorie c.
