Hi, you can connect it to the iTunes and 'restore' the iPod. This will also reset it back to its factory settings and erase the music on it. So please back up your library before you reset your iPod!
Another thing, that I would check first: The contrast setting on your iPod. If this is not the problem - restore your device.
