Installing windows xp

Hello,
I would like to know if it is possible to install windows xp or windows vista without having to have a cd? I don't know much about computers, however my pc is broken so I can't do anything 0n my computer that requires a cd. I currently have windows me. Please tell me that there is an eaier way to upgrade my computer!

No you will need a CD.

A Win ME PC will never be able to run VISTA. It might even have problems with WIN XP. You need a minimum of 256 MB of memory and a 10 GB hard disk for WIN XP.

You might be able to download a version of Linux and run a dual boot machine. But, most versions of Linux need to be installed from a bootable CD.
