Can't open files saved as batch jpgs from CS3

Hello,

My daughter and I shot photos at an event in RAW format and opened them with her MAC in CS3. She then batch saved them as jpgs and wrote them to CD's for me to color corect, crop etc. I am using an older version of photoshop (6) on my pc and these files are giving me an error message that reads:

"Could not open file because an unknown or invalid JPEG marker type is found"

We have tried renaming the files and giving them different file extensions however, we are getting basically the same error message.

HELP please.
