Xp formating confusion urgent

Hello,
I need to reformat my hard drive and i have windos xp. I dont have the xp disc. Can i make a copy of the one on my computer and then try reformationg? If so how. Thank you

you cannot format without an OS disc.
dont forget that a format completely wipes everything on the HDD. Files, settings etc. so back up what you want to keep.


get yourself hold of an OS disc, boot to disc on bootup, follow the onscreen instructions.


DONT FORGET - you need a product key.

if you do not know what your product key is, download "magical jellybean" which will find this for you.
