HP Pavilion laptop

Hello,
we have just purchased an HP Pavilion laptop but it has come without a disc for registration for Microsoft Works - we now have no access to word or anything. What can I do? It keeps asking us for the key but we have nothing. I have looked on all the packages and the man box it arrived in but nothing. This is so frustrating - all we want to do is get going on it.
