Acer Aspire 1360 Closed

Question

I have a Acer laptop that I bought used with no HDD and no Ram I installed both and when booting it don't see either the HDD or the optical drive. Not sure what I can do to trouble shoot this problem thought maybe my board was bad boots into bios and everything just dont reed drives but does see USB flash drive I tried to format from flash drive 

Configuration: Windows XP / Firefox 3.6.3

take out this hdd  and keep another computer and formate it. in this way allvirous  may be delateb . some time virouse can do this, we have face same problem in our lab while  we  are instaling new desk top computer .  look in bios usb port is not disable? do enable .     thank

Ok I dont have another laptop to do this with so Ill have to buy a connector so that I can format it with my desktop

Also that would make it not see either of them in the Bios? just wondering as this has really got me stumped

bios is not related with hdd. we can go bios with out hdd . bios is related to th mainbord. we can go there from f8. bios is progrramming in mother bord chief.

sir some time virouse disable hdd and cd room in my practics. i beare this in my lab  once atime formatt and instaall op please. thanks
