Hi Carla,
Well if this is not a problem with your resolution button on your monitor, you should see a technitian to fix the button.
Else, you can easily change the resolution by using your mouse and right clicking on your desktop. Then choose "Properties" and go to the "Settings" tab. Go to the Screen Resolution section and you can now alter it in order to see if it solves your problem.
