Only 1 pc can connect to a server folder

Hi. my problem is strange. for some reason only one pc can access a specific folder in the server. the rest of the pc's get 'access denied' messages. even the server administrator cant access the folder. the only pc that can access the folder is not a server. what could be the problem? i am using windows xp server 2003. all machines are using xp pro

re-create small home & office network, if that does not work then,repair the operating system of the other systems or format them
