Screen dies after few minutes

Hello,
i have a IBM thinkpad here. Everything works fine. You can see battery light, wireless and bluetooth are connected. i turn on the laptop, you can see everything on laptop, loading, user accounts, and everything. But after couple of minutes screen just dies. all other lights are still on.
Can anyone know whats the problem for this??
