Stupid ipod

Hey my ipod nano i think its 4th generation was played untill it went dead i think left on hold but not possitive, and now it wont turn back on i've tried holding the buttons down and everything i've read on herem its makeing me so mad everyone elses seems to work when they try this stuff but not mine. HELP!!! is it broken??

Have you tried leaving it to charge for at least 24 hours and then turning it back on? Does your computer recognize it when you plug it in?
Mine did that a few months ago.
