My ipod will not turn on?

Hello, i have an 8GB nano ipod, i havnt used it for a while and went to use it 2days ago, i put it on charge and it connected fine! added songs took songs off and said it was charging, it reboots when connected so it seems to be workin but as soon as i eject it from my computer it wont even reboot or turn on at all, please can someone help!

check this:
Hold down the "select" and the "menu" buttons together until the apple logo pops up.
