My laptop sound is gone Closed

Hello,


I have HP COMPAQ Laptop with me and i have installed Windows XP OS. Recently from my laptop no sounds are played. Even system power on & off sound is not working. I could not know what would be the problem. Winamp player, real player.etc... are not played, it says unable to open. Kindly help in this regard and what should i do further.

you mentioned that you've just did a clean installation of windows xp on your system and after that  you cant hear any sounds coming from it right? so this is the thing., you might had just forgot to installed sound drivers on your computer. to check for that, see the device manager. but if you had installed sound drivers yet you could still cant hear anything try to check your sound card.
