Hello,

As you can see, my desktop has suddenly turned into black screen of death. I have read all the suggested answers here but these arent working for me. I have also tried to repair it with Windows XP Bootable CD but no luck. Tried the Recovery Console, And Last Known Configuration which is the F8 technique... nothing works!

Hope someone could figure it out because i dont want to reformat my CPU due to some valuable files located on Drive C.. It would be my last resort.

Hi there,

By booting from your windows installation cd this must have been fixed, else if you opted for formatting when no option left you can recover all files by using recovery softwares.

Thanks

I had this issue too. Doesn't happen often, but when it happens it happens and then goes away.

Here's a work around when your screen goes blank on ctl-alt-del:

Press your windows key on your keyboard (the one with the window symbol) and press 'L' simultaneously. Now you'll see a locked dialog box. now use ctl -alt -del and it will let you in.
