I have a Gateway MX6920 laptop that had a bad drive. I replaced it with a compatible drive and it is recognized in the bios. However, when I attempt to install the WIN XP OS, it gets to the point of loading and then says there is no HDD and cannot continue.
The laptop is out of warranty and Gateway does not sell the OEM restore system disks anymore. Any suggestions to get past the OS/HDD bug or a source of the disks would be most helpful.
