Connect my Dell Inspiron laptop with my TV

Hello,

I have Dell Inspiron I1764 laptop with graphics card ATI Mobility Radeon HD5450

I would like to connect my screen to my TV screen...

TV is SONY 42" Flat Panel Plasma WEGA ( KE-42TS2U )

I tried to connect my my laptop to TV with HDMI to DVI..but it didnt show me anything on TV..i tried every resolution but it still wouldnt work...

can anyone tell me if its possible to connect them & if yes, please give me step by step instruction...

Specs :

Intel i5
4 GB RAM
Windows 7 - 64 home premium

Hi there,

Take your remote and select computer/pc/hdmi mode on tv to get the display as well switch to tv by pressing Fn+function keys from F1 to F12 on laptop/.
