Oc cpu issues

Hello,
i have a amd 965 ,asrock m3a790gxh/128m,ddr3 4gigs ram,ati 5870, and i can not seem to oc. I did it throug amd overdrive and it would crash past 3.5. I tried manualy changing the bios for a good 3.8, windows would not start after that. I had to repair. Anyone know how i can oc to 3.8 or 4.0 .My cpu temp is 54c when under load under clocked.

check out this site for info on overclocking. (you may need to change the CPU voltage to clock at your desired speed)

that did not seem to help to much anyone else know what i am doing wrong
