Acer touch pad and Keypad problem

Hello,

I have an Acer Aspire laptop which is 4 yrs old.
I recently upgraded to 2gb memory.
I have a problem with the touch pad and Key pad which freeze and do not work.
When i use a wireless mouse its works, but use is very limited.
I have not had any issues which this machine previously.

Any suggestion?
