Sound from speakers interferes with my mic!

For some reason, when i'm using my mic, sound from my speakers interferes with it, its not the microphone, i've tried three. It's a jack-in microphone, and it does it even if I use headphones. I have A Compaq Presario CQ50 laptop, and the speakers i'm using are built in to my laptop... Can anyone help?

If you are actually not making use of the microphone, you can have it unplugged.
