No sound "At all" from my Advent 6311!

Hello, My Advent 6311 is not producing any sound at all, i've tried all the usual remedies but none work. I took it along to pc world and the technician had it fixed in 5 mins. However, it f....d up again yesterday but i am too embarassed to take it back for another freebie "fix" Any suggestions please?
