Soundless laptop

My Toshiba laptop's sound stopped working about two weeks ago. I used to listen to it with headphones alot and I think that has alot to do with it. I took my headphones out in the middle of a song I was listening to then the sound started skipping and just went silent. Since then my laptop hasnt made a sound, not even the Windows sound. Is this fixable? If so, what can I do or is there anything I can buy? PLEASE comment.

Dear Brynn,

Please get to the Device Manager and check whether its sound driver needs to be updated in order to have the problem solved.
