Cant download any file

Hello,
i cant download any files,after updating the internet explorer 7 to internet explorer 8
download window opened but there is no any downloading........ after a few minutes a dialog box open and showed that

"Internet Explorer cannot download IE8-WindowsVista-x86-ENU.exe from download.microsoft.com
Internet Explorer was not able to open this Internet site.The requested site is either unavaliable or cannot be found.Please try again later."
Please help me..............

Dear Else,

There might be some problems about its server connection or maintenance issues and the best thing will be trying later. If ever the problem continues, please consider contacting their support team and inform them about it for them to get it fixed.
