Hello,
Before reinstalling IE8, you must:
1. Ensure that it is no longer in your programme files.
2. Ensure that it is no longer in your application data files.
Use your search tool to find these files and delete them.
Finally, you must also ensure that all IE files are deleted from your registry.
I suggest this free registry cleaner which is very efficient.
Dowload and run it.
https://www.eusing.com/free_registry_cleaner/registry_cleaner.htm
It may find also other registry errors.
Last, reinstall IE8
