Computer won't beep

Hello,

I just got a new CUP fan and CPU unit just today. The CPU is a used AMD Athlon XP Barton 2800+ 512K Socket A AXDA2800DKV4D in 100% working condition. I just put in the CPU, the sliver cooling, and the fan, and checked all connections. The CPU fan works and the mother board lights up, but the green power-up button on the front of my PC won't light up and there's no beep. PLEASE HELP me! My computer's been offline for order 3 weeks now! PLEASE HELP ME!!!

the CPU is dead and or you installed it wrong. Reinstall the old CPU
