No sound from speakers

Hello, I don't have sound coming from my headset. I plug them in, but the sound just comes from my speakers and I don't have realtek audio manager. Is there any way I can get one?

Try going into Sounds and audio device properties select Advanced in speaker settings and change to stero headphones.
This site may help as well Look halfway down the page for the Vista update

Well, the thing is that my headset won't show up on the playback devices =s.

Well have you done what I suggested. Some devices may need you to run a test to see if your headphones are installed.
Try turning off your speakers and pluging in your headphones.
You do not say if you have a laptop or desktop If you have a laptop check your manual.
