No speaker sound

Hello,
I updated apple ipod for my laptop, I believe I had sound prior to updating it. Then afterwards I have no sound coming from my speakers but can hear sound if I use headphones. How do I fix it so I can hear from both speakers and earphones?

Dear Sir,

Please confirm whether the speakers are not faulty by trying it on another device.
