San andreas not loading

Hello, I was running GTA SA with no problems. I tried to install a mod installer and the program would get to the screen with a character and the progress bar would go halfway and thats all. No crash, no quit, just sticks on the load screen. I removed the mod installer, and reinstalled the program a couple times now - but it is still having the same issue. Any suggestions?
