mac won't boot firewire symbol on the screen Closed

Hello, 

I turned on my G4 Quicksilver and it chimes, but it won't boot and all I get is a firewire symbol bouncing around on the screen. What is wrong?

Configuration: Windows XP / Internet Explorer 8.0
