Wi-fi connection not working

Hello, I am using xp and used to be connected using wireless adapter. I guess the machine got infected and I don't have any more network connection. I am using Edimax adapter( EW-7711uAn), i reinstalled it correctly(it finds the router and the connection seems to be working), but internet connection continues to fail, xp suggests to read and follow instructions in article 871122 and the suggestions in there have not helped. Any one who had come accross the same problem?

You have to use antivirus with latest signature to scan and clean your computer. In addition, you might try to use winsockfix to fix this too as it might due to faulty winsock catalog. Hope this helps.
