Watching TV through Acer Aspire Netbook

Hello, I have an LG 32LCD TV and want to watch and hear movies from my Acer Aspire Netbook.

I have a cable that shows the picture in RBG mode and no sound. I have a second cable running from the headphone jack on the netbook to the audio inport in the TV that plays the sound through AV1 mode but then there is no picture. Am I missing something? Is there a basic button push that I am missing?
