Itunes don't recognize Ipod

Hello, I had to take my computer to be worked on. They had reinstall the operating system. After that they reinstalled Itunes and the library but now the computer doesn't recognize my Ipod and tell me that I may lose things on my Ipod when synchronizing now. What can I do?
