my computer is acting EXTREMELY weird.Closed

Question

Hello everyone :]
Basically, yesterday my computer was working great, nothring was out of the ordianry, then today, when i turned it on, the windows XP theme, has went back to classic style menu(can't change it back)  the internet is not responding (no network connections), and the sound is not wrking (no audio device) 

I honestly have no clue on what is happening, so help is Greatly appreciated, and i will try whatever you guys say =3

P.S. i have a Dell E310, i don't think i can find anything else (or at least i don't know how to xD)

Well, firstly is your screen resolution changed? Do icons/text seem bigger than normal?

If so you are probably just in safe mode.  You shut down your computer weird, or power was cut and you didn't notice, etc. So when it started, it started up in Safe mode which natively has no network connections, no themes, and some device drivers or devices altogether are not started.

ahhhh, you have a good point, i'll have to try that out! :] 

could it be a virus, or registry error? Or possibly a missing file?

i don't know if i stated this in my first post, but the computer doesn't seem to recognize, usb's, or cd/dvd'
s either. =|
