"explorer.exe" problems

Hello,

I have a desktop computer that wont show my icons all it shows is the task bar and my yahoo messenger still runs. I tried using the "explorer.exe" on the ctrl+alt+delete but all it did was open up my documents so i tried to reset it trough there to but still nothing its the same and i cant seem to find any were to download the "explorer.exe " and i have ran out of ideas what can i do.

am i trying to fix the wrong problem?

oh and i took off the hard drive and connected it as a slave to another desktop and ran an antivirus program and it found two trojans and delet it them but now its clean but its still the same task bar but no icons.
