Hello,
Could anybody tell me how to install Windows XP on a brand new hard drive?
My old hard drive is totally dead, so there's nothing I can do to make it work again or fix it. My (laptop) computer was previously running on Vista, but I'd like to go back to XP.
Additional problem: my cd/dvd drive is broken... Can I install XP from an external hard drive? So far, I've tried different ways, but I was not able to start the booting process at all.
Thank you very much. Have a good one!

PS: My computer is a laptop Packard Bell "EasyNote" SJ81

Hi there,

You can install xp via pendrive for which you need it of 1Gb size minimum and make changes in bios for the downgrade, all instructions for the process are given on links below from Faq:

Thanks a lot jaunglia!
...And I guess I can use an external hard drive instead of a pendrive, there should be no difference between those, right?
Once again, thanks so much. Have a good one! :)
