Windows 7 not recognizing Ipod!!! HELP ME!!!

Hi, My windows 7 computer won't recognize my iPod- it was working fine a few weeks ago, and then suddenly my device driver would not be installed! I've done every thing to try and fix this, so please, no one tell me to go onto Device manager. I have done this over and over again and STILL the yellow exclamation mark stays on the Apple Device Software option. I have run out of things to do and have contacted apple as well.
