Dell vostro fromatting problem <urgent>

Hello,


when i goes to format my dell vostro 1014 laptop,he does not format because after booting with my xp cd he told me please chkdsk and restart,but there is no chkdsk option and he does not start in safe mode.he is continously restart automitically.

please tell me how can i format.

Hello mate,

What is the actual os on the laptop ?please give more information also are you planning for a downgrade?
