Dell stuido 1555 HDMI problems

Hello,

I can connect my Dell studio 1555 to my sont 32" HD tv no problem but when i try and run games such as Alien swarm on steam, the hdmi disconnects and the display returns to the laptop screen.

Any ideas how i can sort this?
