My son did something to change keyboard keys. Closed

Hello, 
When I press shift + control the keyboard gets messed up.  If I type "hero" and the after shift + control it spells "d.pr".  How do I deactivate a key combo function? 


Configuration: Windows XP / Internet Explorer 8.0
