Sony via won't install windows xp

Hello,

Got a sony via pcg- 9l1l that doesn't have anything installed on it. I have tried to install windows xp but no luck. It get's part of the way through or gets to the partitation part but nothing to partitation..hope someone can help me out. Thanks
