MAC EXCEL

Hello,

I have had my macbook pro since April and without issue. Now all of the sudden my excel software will not open I get the following message:

It says to reinstall. When I try to do that I get told it cannot because I have a newer version already installed. I do update regularly, but did not get a newer version. What can I do?

May be if you unistall the product first, it might work . Personally I dont think that will help. Dont know about mac, when ever I got these sort of error on PC, simple installation never helped. I had to scan the hard drive for bad sector first.
